A LOVE STORY WRITTEN BY GOD
Every Love Story prepared by God begins in ways we never expect. Ours did not start with promises or grand gestures, but with quiet moments, crosses paths and a faith that trusted - God’s perfect timing , long before we ever understood His plan.
The Groom and Bride story began quietly in 2004, long before they understood what God was preparing.
Beverlyn was a third-year college student of DABC when they first crossed path with Pastor Allan. It was during the time where Beverlyn together with the VBS teaching team came to the church in Tabing Ilog Alliance Church, Prk. Riverside, Brgy. El-nonok, Banga, South Cotabato, where Pastor Allan was assigned as a Resident Pastor of that Church. Unknown to Beverlyn, there was already a quiet admiration growing in Ptr. Allan’s heart. But for him it’s not ideal to pursue that quite admiration because he is still in a relationship. And for Beverlyn aside from she is still a student, having relationship those time is not a priority.
Years Passed, Beverlyn was in her internship year, she was assigned in the same District where Pastor Allan is still ministering, in the District of South Mindanao. Once again their paths aligned. Most of the time they shared moments together during youth workers fellowship, outing and gatherings within the district. Some fellow workers used to tease them during those times. However, despite being teased back then, it had no effect between the two of them especially for Ptra. Bevs that no plan for getting into relationship during that year.
Again life and ministry took precedence and eventually, communication faded. Wala na balita sa isat isa. Both focused on God’s ministry.
Pastor Allan got married and transferred to Cotabato City Alliance Evangelical Church, of Central Mindanao District, And Ptra. Bevs also got transferred at Kauran Alliance Church, Sultan District with same year 2010. Time passed, and silence stretched into years. For Ptr. Allan he had no idea that he would become a widower so early in his married life. And on that moment, in his heart was a quiet prayer, “Lord if You will allow me to love and marry again, let it be after three to four years,”
And God in His perfect faithfulness, an unfathomable way took place. During The General Assembly in Bacolod, God orchestrated another meeting. Ptr. Allan and Ptra. Bevs met again with smiles, hi & hellos and even took a picture together. But to Ptra. Bevs , she had no idea that Ptr. Allan was already a widower.
Again, another year of silence for both of them, while Ptr. Allan focus on his kids. Ptra. Bevs also deeply focused on the ministry despite being teased by her friends, concerned members “Pas, san-o na?, sin-o ginahulat? Accept na bala….Palangga ka gid namon, pero may isa gid kami ka bagay na indi mahatag, and the most challenging when some said, “lower your standard na” Ptra. Bevs just smile and answered, its not about standard but it’s God best timing.. with smile, sabay sabi…” Kung sin-o man ang makapapitik sang heart sya nag gid na will ni Lord...” knowing that she is a woman who gets easily discourage and can’t stand her feelings.
Back in 2023, Ptr. Allan sometimes send messages to check on Ptra Bevs , asked if how shes doing but during those time no reply. Sometimes may reply but ang timi like, “K lang”
Until on February 2024,Ptr.Allan saw one of ptra.Bevs'myday and He was asking,“Kumusta”? It felt unusual, but even Ptra. Beverlyn wondered why he suddenly reply and ask Ptr. Allan to pray for her. For ‘twas those days, she couldn’t comprehend her emotions, something felt off – like she could break down in tears, as though an emptiness lingered inside her. Ptr. Allan took time to advice he had no idea that those advices he gave had a meaningful effect on Ptra Bevs she just silently uttered, “Wow! Ka matured ba nya maghandle ng sitwasyon” to Ptra. Bevs she took it as a turning point of her feelings, she felt as if her eyes and heart where opened and saw something in Ptr. Allan.
Their paths crossed again- this time not by chance, but by divine alignment. There were funny moments, unexpected encounters and situations that seemed too perfectly time to be coincidence. Chat turned into deeper sharing, praying thru online. There was a funny yet for Ptra. Bevs very awkward and embarrassing situation after uwian ng campers during NAYC 2024, and those fueled her to replied Ptr’s Allan chats. Whatever it is , its between them only…hahaha
Until on August 27, 2024 during the “Future is Now” summit in Cagayan, Ptr. Allan formally and clearly expressed his real feelings, while Ptra. Bevs considered it but deep inside her heart something wants to be cleared about her feelings.
Both waited for God’s right timing, Prayed and Honored God. And it was then on November 09, 2024 that ptra. Bevs confirmed and said, Yes Lord! Love nagid ni ya, . On that day Ptra Bevs confirmed first to her closest friend, fellow worker by saying….. “Kami na ni Ptr. Allan”!
From that moment on, everything was lifted to the Lord in prayer. Step by step God ordered our journey.
And now here we are,
On January 16, 2026 we will stand before God, our families, our brethren to exchange our vows not just as husband and wife to be but as two souls whose lives where patiently woven together by God’s perfect timing.
Our Love story is a living testimony that indeed, “True Love Waits” while we may have plans, dreams, desires not all of them unfold the way we expect. As the scripture says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts nor are your ways My ways” – says the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
Indeed, God has His own plans, perfect and right timing – and He wrote our love story far more beautifully than we ever could.
