Our Love Story

Our journey together has not been without its trials. To say otherwise would be untrue. Yet through every challenge and season, we have come to understand that all things unfold according to His divine will. God has been the Architect of our love, the Compass that guided our path, and the Foundation upon which our marriage stands.

Our story began quietly, long before love took its name. We first met one summer when I was still in high school, and I called him Kuya, as he was a friend of my Ate. Years later, in 2012, that same Ate asked if I still remembered Kuya Anthony, he was looking for a text mate. With a simple yes, our story resumed, in a time when conversations were carried by messages and patience.

Life led us apart for a while, until one birthday greeting reopened the door to what was meant to be. He had just returned from the sea, and from that moment, our connection found its way back. When he came home once more, our paths aligned, and on March 9, 2013, we became officially as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Ours was a love tested by distance. As a seafarer, he spent long months away, and our relationship endured the quiet strength required of waiting hearts. Each trial refined our love and anchored it deeper in faith.

In 2015, without grand gestures or rehearsed words, he spoke with certainty, we would be married. And so, on January 4, 2016, we were united in a simple civil ceremony, intimate and sincere. In time, we were blessed with two beautiful children, the living testament of God’s grace in our lives.

We dreamed of a church wedding upon his return in 2017, but God’s plans unfolded differently. Parenthood came, priorities shifted, and before we realized it, ten years had passed since we began our life as husband and wife.

As we celebrate a decade of marriage, we come before the Lord to seek His blessing upon the union He has faithfully sustained. With grateful hearts, we affirm His promise:

 “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
