Our Love Story

I first knew him in 2020 while I was studying at CHMSU-FT, and he was from the Alijis Campus. He was popular for winning pageants in Bacolod City and for representing Negros Occidental, while I quietly admired him from afar.

In 2021, we had brief interactions when he first messaged me, trying to make a move with his corny, cheesy jokes. Yes, I had a crush on him—but I only wanted it to stay a *crush*. I wasn’t interested in anything more.

Then, we lost contact.

In May 2024, a simple reaction unexpectedly brought us back into each other’s lives. What started as casual chats slowly turned into long conversations and late-night calls, where I met a more mature, determined, and sincere version of him. When we finally met and shared a quiet midnight ride on his motorcycle, something shifted. From that moment on, he never stopped choosing me—always checking in, always reassuring me, always making his intentions clear.

Honestly, everything felt too rushed. I wasn’t prepared. I felt overwhelmed and afraid that it might just be a trip or a fling.  I rejected him not only once or twice but many times. He worked on himself, respected my boundaries, changed the things that hurt me, and showed me consistency even when all I could offer were messages, calls, and patience. He never gave up.

In August 2024, he brought me to his place and introduced me to his mother and siblings. After six months of patiently waiting, he formally met my parents to ask for their permission.

Through patience, understanding, and countless quiet moments, we slowly built something real. What started with uncertainty and fear grew into trust, consistency, and reassurance. There was no pressure, no pretending—only honesty, effort, and the kind of love that feels safe. In his presence, I learned how to soften without fear, and in mine, he learned how to love without holding back. Together, we became a place of rest for one another, where hearts feel at home and souls feel understood.

In each other, we found comfort, peace, and a place where our hearts could rest. It was a very sudden chapter in our story, but it taught us that love isn’t about how long you’ve been together—it’s about how deeply you choose each other every single day.
