Our Love Story

It all started at the PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Office, where Zarah and Daryl’s paths crossed in the most ordinary yet unforgettable way. Zarah was busy processing some papers as she was helping the Census of Population 2020 Team, when she noticed Daryl walked through the glass door — calm, polite, with that quiet charm that drew people in without trying. Soon after, Daryl grew a crush on Zarah. He would secretly take a sneak peek on the PSA Employee’s Log Book, just so he would know Zarah’s full name and add her on Facebook – he was successful in doing so.

A few weeks later, fate made its move. Zarah stumbled upon Daryl’s Starbucks Facebook My Day, a simple photo of a cup of frappe. Intrigued, she replied “Hala! Gacollect ka man stickers?” What began as a casual reaction blossomed into a deep conversation that stretched late into the night. It wasn’t just small talk — it was the kind of exchange that made hearts skip a beat, words flowing effortlessly like they had known each other forever.

Soon, their daily chats turned into something neither could ignore. Daryl would drop by the office under the pretense of running errands, his eyes lighting up the moment they met Zarah’s. She teased him about it, but secretly, her heart fluttered every time he showed up. 

Then, came PSA’s Provincial Level Training. Zarah and her girlfriends were having some good time with Sojus and light beers, when Justine, one of Zarah’s closest friends, triggered an intriguing question to Daryl, “Ngaa affected ka kung may gachat nga iban kay Zarah, naluyag ka sa iya?” And right there and then, Daryl confessed what he truly feels about Zarah.

By November 26, 2020, under a starlit sky and a nervous smile, Daryl asked Zarah to be his girlfriend. She said yes — softly, yet with all the certainty in the world. That night, their laughter mingled with the promise of something real filled the air, sealing a love that felt destined.

Through the years, they grew together — not just in affection, but in faith, patience, and shared dreams. Daryl never forgot to bring her coffee when she was tired, and Zarah never failed to remind him how proud she was of the man he was becoming.
