Our Love Story

We started out as colleagues back in August of 2017. We were colleagues in the recruitment industry so there were lots of employees around us and we didn’t really have the chance to bond or become closer. I didn't consider us being friends that time.

Until we attended our year end party on Dec 3rd of the same year, and we welcomed my birthday together on a ktv with some of our workmates. I can never forget how Eric greeted me with a kiss on my cheek and asked me “What’s your favorite Starbucks drink?”. I’m a little surprised and didn’t think he would really buy me one but he did and gave it to me when I came to work on the night of Dec 4th, and kissed me again on the cheeks (he was so confident doing that!). My team was shocked with his gesture and everyone teased me that night.

Dec 31, 2017 he invited me for coffee so we met in Gateway Mall and little did I know, we’ll go home and welcome the new year as a couple. We walked a short while, stopped and stared at the big christmas tree in New York Street, Quezon City, and he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was surprisingly out of nowhere because he’s not even courting me and I don’t have feelings for him yet, but maybe there was a spark and a potential I guess, so I decided to give him a chance.

That day, we were so unsure and just living the moment when we both decided to try if things will work out for us and where it will bring us. Fast forward to today, 8 years passed by quickly. We had our ups and downs, we broke up once but we always found our way back to each other.

One of our most memorable moments happened during our trip to Thailand in November 2024, in Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya, when he popped the question with a beautiful emerald cut white gold engagement ring that perfectly fits my finger! It was no fairytale but it turned out to be my favorite love story.

Ours will always be a reminder of God’s faithfulness and provision — that when the time is right, He will really make it happen in the most unexpected way but also the most beautiful plot twist anyone could ever wish for.

From one coffee date, to a lifetime of having coffee together, our love finally made it through and is now ready to welcome the new chapter of our lives as husband and wife and forever as best friends for life!
