Our Love Story

Our story began in the halls of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture back in 2015. We didn’t know it then, but that year would change our lives forever. We started simply as classmates who shared the same jokes, the same struggles, and the same everyday college chaos. And from those ordinary days, a genuine friendship grew until we became best friends.

But somewhere along the way, my heart learned something before I did: I was falling in love with her. It wasn’t sudden. It happened in little moments, her smile that made every stressful day lighter, her stories that made even the longest lectures bearable, and the way she supported me in everything. One day, I couldn’t hide it anymore. I finally told her that i really like her. That confession began almost one year of courtship, one year of proving how much she meant to me, one year of hoping she would one day say yes. Then came October 8, 2016, the day she competed for Miss CDE Icon 2016. I had no idea she made a promise to herself:

“If I win the crown, I’ll finally say yes to him.”

And when she won, everything changed.

That night, she officially became mine, and I became hers. From that moment on, our college life became a shared journey. 

We were classmates, partners in every assignment and project, and teammates in every challenge. We did everything together, studied side by side, took our practicum in the same place, graduated together in 2018, reviewed for the LET, and passed the board exam in the same year. When we stepped into the real world, we continued our story, now not just as students, but as partners shaping our own careers. There were challenges, long days, and moments that tested us, but our love stayed steady. We grew not just as individuals but together.

And after seven beautiful and adventurous years in the relationship, I finally knelt down and asked her the question I had been carrying in my heart since the day I confessed my feelings:

“Will you marry me?” And she said yes again.

This time, to forever. Now, nine years after our love story officially began, I look back and feel overwhelmed by how far we’ve come from two students walking the same campus halls,

to best friends who slowly fell in love,

to partners building dreams side by side.

That’s why on December 30, I am fully ready to stand before God and everyone we love, and give her the promise of a lifetime, to love her, to care for her, and to choose her every single day for the rest of my life.



Because my greatest blessing began in 2015—

with a girl named Jialyn, who started as my best friend… and is now the woman I get to call my wife.
