Our Love Story

Our love story began at work when he joined our company in 2017. At first, I didn’t like him; to me, he seemed stubborn, and I thought managing him would be difficult. However, as his senior, I observed his work ethic. He was a quick learner, completed his tasks on time, and performed his job well as a newcomer. Because of this, I set aside my annoyance and recognized that he could become an asset to the company one day.

As the years went by, I got to know him better and began to appreciate the little things about him: he is caring, sweet, and loving. Initially, I was unsure of my feelings because for me he was just a friend or coworker at that time. However, we grew closer at work. On Sundays, we enjoy going out, eating lunch or dinner, visiting different places, and spending time together. Although we were uncertain about the nature of our relationship, one thing was clear: he had become special to me, and I know that he felt the same way. He started to express his love for me, but since I was coming out of a long-term relationship, I struggled to believe in love again. I was hesitant to enter into another relationship, fearing it would just be a waste of time. But he did not give-up. He showed me that true love really exists. What we had was not perfect; we didn’t celebrate monthsaries, anniversaries or typical milestones that couples usually do. In fact, we couldn’t even pinpoint the exact day we fell in love—it just happened.

Then the pandemic hit, bringing hard times for us. Although our misunderstandings almost tore us apart, I realized just how much I loved him during that time, and I knew he felt the same. He proved to me that I was more important than the disagreements and fights we had. Despite nearly falling apart, I believe God had bigger plans for us; those conflicts only made us stronger. Did you know that for all those years, I never said the words "I love you" or "Mahal Kita" to him, either in person or through messages? I wanted to reserve those words for the first time in front of God on our wedding day. Even without saying "I love you," I always made sure he felt that love every single day. Now, from someone I initially found annoying, he has become the person I want to love for the rest of my life. It’s truly amazing how God brought us together in such an unexpected way.
