Our Love Story

Jasper and Lovely’s love story feels like something straight out of Wattpad. They first met during their elementary days in an MTAP Saturday class—Jas, the campus crush, and Love, the kind and pretty girl from another school. He even wrote her name as his happy crush in his slambook. From then on, they would only see each other once a year during the Science Fair, quietly looking forward to those moments.

Entering high school, Jas was supposed to enroll as a seminarian like his brother. But at a very young age, he was brave enough to decide for himself—he secretly gathered all his credentials and enrolled on his own at Malabon National High School. So clever!

Fate reunited them in high school at MNHS, where they ended up in the same special section and the same circle of friends. Jas spent a year courting Love—from group bike rides and shy visits to her house, to bravely asking her parents for permission to court their daughter. On July 19, 2010, their love story officially began. They graduated together, pursued their dreams at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and grew side by side through life’s highs and lows. Fourteen years later, Jas got down on one knee and asked the question that changed everything—at Disneyland, Hong Kong on Nov 08, 2024. From a childhood crush to a forever kind of love, this has always been their story.

Fun fact: Before the “Will You Marry Me?” question, the bride-to-be received different kinds of “proposals”:

  • “Let’s do a civil wedding secretly” – para at least kasal na tayo
  • “Let’s have a child” – para may alagaan na si Mommy na kid
  • “Let’s live together” – if you’re still not ready na umalis sa inyo
