Our Love Story
Some love stories begin with fireworks. Ours began in a classroom.
We have known each other since elementary school — just two kids who had no idea that the person sitting a few chairs away would one day become their forever. Kent and Lyra started as friends: simple, genuine, and comfortable. We grew up side by side, sharing laughs, stories, and dreams we didn’t fully understand yet.
In high school, everything slowly changed. During our third year, friendship turned into something deeper. I still remember those simple, precious moments — “ikaw tig palit sa akong snack” every recess. After school, we would go on little dates at the plaza. No grand gestures, no fancy dinners — just two young hearts learning how to love. Even then, it already felt right.
College tested us in ways we never expected. Life became a roller coaster — full of ups and downs, victories and heartbreaks, doubts and prayers. It wasn’t easy, but through every challenge, we chose each other. We became each other’s support system. When things felt overwhelming, we would go to Sto. Niño Church to pray and ask for guidance. Our faith became our anchor.
From 2013 to 2026 — thirteen years of growth, patience, forgiveness, and unwavering love.
As adults, our dreams began to take shape. Through financial struggles during college, we still managed to earn our bachelor’s degrees. Kent pursued his calling as a seaman and is now a Second Officer, sailing across oceans, while I followed a different path as a virtual assistant. Our journeys were sometimes physically distant, but our hearts remained aligned. Nothing came easy. Every achievement carries a story of sacrifice, tears, and faith.
Through it all, one thing has remained non-negotiable: our faith in God. I am endlessly thankful for him because he brings me closer to the Lord and teaches me to trust in God’s plans.
From childhood friends to lifelong partners, our story proves that love grows, endures, and becomes more beautiful with time.
This is our love story — thirteen years in the making. And this is only the beginning. 🤍
