Our Love Story
It started not with romance, but a small, simple crush.
In the bright kindergarten years, in a playground's young rush.
For her small, bright presence, his young heart felt a tug,
A feeling that took root, a quiet, destined hug.
Through seasons of youth, his hope was fiercely held.
Three times he asked her, his earnest suit propelled.
Three times she declined, not yet ready for his hand.
But he simply waited and sought to understand.
He held to the conviction that patience was his art,
Trusting destiny would finally play its part.
The years were swift, she grew into a brilliant mind.
In the stressful calling of medical school she was confined.
He, meanwhile, was shaping his purpose, strong and true,
Building the foundation that their future would rest on, too.
Then, finally, the heavens bent to show the way.
Their paths aligned, and love was ready to stay.
Under the vast, bright canvas of Boracay's golden light,
On May 12, 2019, a moment pure and right,
He asked the single question that spanned all of his years,
And her joyful "Yes" swept away all of his fears.
The world then changed, a pandemic test arose,
Distance was a burden, a challenge to surmount.
But their trust was an anchor, their bond they did defend,
A love that grew stronger, even to the very end.
And now, the final curtain of that long-ago desire,
They stand within the warmth of their love's sacred fire.
The kindergarten dream, the devotion that endured,
Becomes the forever their patient hearts secured.
With every whispered vow, with every knowing glance,
They will step into their beautiful, unending romance—
