Our Love Story
We were first introduced around 2014 through a mutual acquaintance. Although we weren't particularly close, our paths crossed due to our shared friends. Our interactions were minimal, and we essentially existed as part of the same social circle without engaging in personal conversations. In 2017 we started to have a conversation wherein we tried to set him up with someone and playfully suggested various friends within our circle; I also introduced him to some of my single coworkers. He was not interested in pursuing any new connections during that period.
In early 2018, we all became busy in life that the interactions in the group became less active. I myself have been busy in immersing to work. Later, around sometime of midyear he knew what I’ve been through, which initiated a personal conversation with me. On my birthday, August 23rd, I received an unexpected delivery at work: a stunning bouquet of 36 red roses, a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and a large chocolate cake accompanied by a birthday card that simply read “Happy birthday, I hope this makes you feel OK.” I had no idea who sent it, nor did I particularly care at the time. However, the following day brought another surprise—a similar set of gifts including flowers, chocolates, cake and a card that said “HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN (PLAN B)” with a smiley face. I was terrified and didn't even eat the cakes and chocolates because I didn't know who sent them. "BAKA MAY GAYUMA, haha."
My coworkers and I began to feel uneasy on August 25th (Baka pinagtitripan na ako, di na magandang biro). I received another set of the same gifts I got for my birthday and yesterday. This time, there were fewer flowers (only 12), but still included cake, 36 pieces of Ferrero Rocher, and a card that read "PLAN C with smiley". While I started to suspect he might be the one behind the gifts, I still ask my friends who has the ability to make fun of me that much. A week later, he began to admit that he was the one who had sent the gifts, which marked the beginning of our story. In response to my question about how he obtained my workplace's address, he said it was printed on our commercially available product in the market. On December 2, 2018, we formally entered into a relationship.
Since that time, we created many memories—laughing, learning, and occasionally confronting challenges that tested our commitment to each other and our relationship. Throughout the various experiences and challenges in our more than 7 years relationship, we developed not only as individuals but also as partners who consistently selected each other. We have assimilated into our daily lives since then. Together, we conquer obstacles, and now ready to approach the next phase of our lives. Who knew that the person who will truly love you the most would be the one you least expect to be your lifetime partner?
