Our Love Story
Since Michael set his eyes on Pearl in fifth grade he knew she was the one he wanted to marry. Though young and innocent he was, he knew he had fallen for Pearl, a sixth-grade pupil. He had been wanting to be near her and talk to but had no courage. “Bugoy” as he was thought of a silly idea of announcing it to his family, classmates and friends that Pearl is his girlfriend. The news spread like a wildfire throughout their school campus. Seemed like his tactic worked for it reached Pearl’s knowledge who had no idea Michael had a crush on her.
Several weeks passed after that silly self-proclamation, Michael started to write her letters. It was like three letters sent before she finally decided to reply him. The exchange of letters was followed by Michael and friends waiting for Pearl’s class to finish for chitchats of schoolmates and friends. This continued until the school year ends and Pearl has to go to high school.
They went to different high schools and so the connection was cut. They met new people, went to different places, and gained new experiences. They simply grew apart. College came and Michael learned of Pearl’s university and came to visit her in her dormitory. More matured now, they tried to work things out. But still, it didn’t. Lack of communication and distance made them part their ways again.
But fate has its own way of bringing them together, 30 years has to pass before everything will make sense. Michael reached out for Pearl through social media. The rest is history.
