Growing up Story

As I turn to the next phase of life, I am grateful for the chapter that has been and full of hope moving forward. 

Growing up was not easy. I encountered many trials and challenges that shaped who I am today. Hard times tested my patience and determination. At an early stage, I learned that growth does not come from comfort. Through challenges, I discovered a strength within, which helped me maneuver through tough times and transform hardships into opportunities. It taught me how to be kinder, embrace a positive outlook and trust God’s plan. 

When I became a student-athlete, I learned how to be independent and disciplined. It added color and meaning to my life chapter and made me wiser. Family and friends were my greatest support system navigating through the student-athlete episode. My parents cheered on for me with their unconditional love and sacrifices. My friends filled my heart with joy with shared memories and laughter that will forever be treasured. And in God’s grace, I am empowered to aim higher with utmost resolve. 

This debut is not just a celebration of age, but of growth, love, and the people who walked with me through every chapter. As I turn 18, I carry the lessons of the past, the joy of the present, and hope for a brighter future—because tonight, I am not just a girl growing up, but a woman becoming.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” 

This Bible verse has a big impact on me now that I am approaching legal age. I know that I will experience many more challenges where both my strengths and weaknesses will be revealed. But with God, I am assured that He will never leave me. He will guide me on the path where everything I go through will eventually be worth it.
